The UAE is not listed as a party to the Hague Apostille Convention, so a UK apostille on its own is not enough for use there. UK documents go through a longer chain of steps.
The usual steps for UK documents
- Certification by a UK solicitor or notary, where the document is private, such as a degree or power of attorney
- An apostille from the FCDO Legalisation Office
- Attestation by the UAE Embassy in London
- Final attestation by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the UAE
What we handle
We can arrange the UK side: certification where needed, the apostille and embassy attestation. The final attestation in the UAE is completed there, by you or someone you appoint.
Our apostille price is £100 per document. This includes the FCDO fee and tracked return, and we aim to finish within 2 working days of your documents arriving at our office.
Certification and embassy attestation are quoted separately before you pay.
Common reasons people need one
- Employment and residence visas
- Marriage and family documents
- Degree and qualification attestation for jobs
- Setting up or running a business
- School enrolment
Before you order
UAE requirements and procedures change from time to time, so we confirm the current route with you before you order. Tell us the document type and what it is for, and ask the receiving UAE authority whether it has any extra requirements.
